About ADHD

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting both children and adults. It is described as a “persistent” or ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that gets in the way of daily life or typical development. Individuals with ADHD may also have difficulties with maintaining attention, executive function (or the brain’s ability to begin an activity, organize itself and manage tasks) and working memory. For more information visit the Cleveland Clinic's website on ADHD in Adults and ADHD - Inattentive Type in Adults.

If you are not diagnosed with ADHD but feel you suffer from symptoms of it you should speak to a healthcare provider, usually a psychologist or psychiatrist.  They can diagnose ADHD based on your medical history and current symptoms. As part of diagnosing ADHD, your provider will ask you about your current symptoms and symptoms you had when you were a child.  Make an appointment and they will talk you through through the next steps.
