Mental Health Matters!

Your Mental Health Matters!

Here in the library, we know it’s normal for our sense of wellbeing to dip from time to time, and sometimes we might need an extra bit of help to pick it back up. The resources below might ease your worries, inspire you, or help you to get practical support – when you look after your wellbeing, you’re more likely to be in a great position to focus on the rest of life, including your relationships with others, work and your studies.

One of the best things you can do for your own mental health is to surround yourself with positive and supportive friends.  Stay connected with your family and maintain strong relationships with those who care about you.

Prioritizing your mental well-being is key.  Don't hesitate to seek help from the TSTC Counselors if you are feeling overwhelmed.

Being mentally or emotionally healthy means more than being free of depression, anxiety, or other psychiatric illnesses. “Mentally healthy” people often:

  • Enjoy life and have the ability to laugh and have fun.
  • Are able to deal with stress and bounce back from adversity.
  • Feel a sense of meaning and purpose, in both their activities and their relationships.
  • Are flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Are able to build and maintain fulfilling relationships.

This guide is not intended to be a substitute for professional advice. If you are experiencing any mental health issues, please connect with a TSTC Counselor.  If are experiencing a crisis, call 988800-273-8255, or text "HOME" to 741741.
