Faculty Services and Resources

This guide is designed to give an overview of the services and resources that the library provides to faculty.

What are LibGuides?

  • LibGuides organize content and resources relevant to your program, course, or assignment into a 24 hour accessible webpage.
  • Students access the site via stable URL and there are no hassles embedding in Moodle.  The same URL can be used multiple semesters in a row, even after content changes are made.  This content can be linked in emails, syllabuses, on program pages, or anywhere else relevant to student learning.
  • Information is dynamic and can change as your course changes at any most during the semester.
  • The user-friendly design makes content easy to comprehend as information is divided into chunks.
  • Invites collaboration between librarians and faculty.  You tell us what you and your students need and we build from there ensuring contact and content updates as needed.
  • Meet the information needs of departments, classes, or assignments with resources specific to your field.
  • Guides cover a range of topics, specific courses or assignments, program information, general topics, or explanation about the library and can be printed out for easy handouts.

Want Your Own LibGuide?

Wanting to help students get a leg up but running short on time to gather resources?
Let the library help!

LibGuides can be a great way to supplement information for your course and ensure that students are headed in the right direction for your course assignments.  Here you can include resources that your students might need to prepare for your class, supplemental information you want them to be aware of, or just be a place to have multimedia resources in one spot.  A guide can be built and you can approve it in just a few days.  Let us know what you would like to include and we can build it for you!

Reach out to your local librarian for more information.

Things we will need include:

  • The course name
  • A description of the class assignments
  • Some ideas about what you want to include in the guide (websites, word documents, YouTube Videos, RSS Feeds, etc.)
