Assignment received

Every class will have different requirements so be sure to read your assignment carefully.

Information needs

What's the differences between a primary and secondary source? Are all journals scholarly? What is grey literature???? Not all sources are the same and your instructor may have strict requirements on what you can and cannot use.

Finding a topic

Finding a research topic that isn't too broad or too narrow can be tricky. Learn some tips to picking the right topic for your assignment.

Scholarly research

Research doesn't have to be time consuming to be thorough! Being prepared when you start taking your notes is a good way to make sure you'll be able to turn your paper in on time.

Finding similar resources

Find tips and tricks to finding more sources if you are running low.

Paper structure

The type of paper you are writing can influence how your paper looks. Compare and contrast papers will look very different from an annotated bibliography.

Writing

References / works cited
