Our Purpose

The Learning Resource Center's purpose is to serve the TSTC community by supporting advanced, specialized and emerging programs and contributing to the educational and economic development of the state of Texas. This mission is achieved through evaluation, organization and collection of academic, technical and vocational materials, fostering information literacy, research and learning skills.

The LRC offers a wide range of resources and services in both print and electronic formats. A good place to start is the student guide which provides access to our online search catalog, database listings, and quick and easy ways to get help with research, citations, and more.

LRC librarians are information experts with the ability to find the resources you need to complete your assignments on time with the quality your instructors expect. Our goal is to improve your knowledge of your field and give you the opportunity to gain the edge against other candidates in a highly competitive job market. We do this by helping you develop soft skills such as information literacy, critical thinking, communication, and professional responsibility through information and bibliographic instruction.
